PURE Church held our first official worship service in August of 2015, but God had been planting the seeds of a church long before. When the Wright family became new neighbors, the De Guzmans had already been hosting a Growth Group for several years, composed of friends from several different churches.  Searching for community as they stumbled through language and culture as new missionaries, the Wrights were glad for the DeGuzman hospitality and invitation to join Bible study. Enrik and Dan, and their wives, Therese and Heidi, began to pray for God's leading as the couples encouraged each other through Scripture to pursue authentic worship, evangelism, and service.

After over 6 months of constant prayer and study, God formed this group into a church and they covenanted together in love and encouragement to build each other up for worship. Several families from the original Growth Group formed the core of PURE Church and began meeting each Sunday for the proclamation of the Gospel, prayer, singing, confession, the Lord's Supper, and a fellowship meal.

The new church quickly adopted the Wright's Happy Family outreach to street kids and squatters as their own ministry and grew together toward Christ in service. PURE Church from the beginning has endeavored to be a church that makes disciples and helps other communities grow up into churches. The first PURE Church extension, through the Happy Family ministry is due to begin worship services at Happy House in Kamandag Tres in September 2018.
